I am glad to inform our audience, that the new Beast have been presented this evening. And what a great machine! The Prinoth 500 as we know it from USA looks completely different from the Beast whom now is presented. Read on, and see the worlds first pictures of the Beast on Trakkemaskin.no / Snow-groomer.net
The undercarriage of this machine is compareable to the Prinoth 500 for the american people, but even there some of the parts are adjusted and changed to perfect the machine. The blade, tiller and tracks are all completely new products, and substitutes to similar smaller Prinoth products. The blade has properly been named The Master Blade, and fits nice enough perfect on The Beast.
Dimensions: Width over tracks - 5,26 meter Width over unfolded blade - 6,0 meter Width over tiller with dumbo ears unfolded - 7,25 meter Engine - Cat C13, 527HP Weight - 11.550 kg Fuelcapacity: 300 liter
Driverpositions, overview and firstimpressions from the drivers seat: Depending on the drivers preferences, there is options for either steering wheel as we know it from the new Prinoth Everest, or the redesigned steering sticks. Another option is to have the driver position either on the left side or in the middle. As first impressions, the overall view out of the cab is excellent! All windows are large, and as supplimentarys to all windows, there are large sidemirrors on both sides of the machine providing good overview of the tiller and dumbo ears. View out of the rear window is very good, supported by a very big and wide rear window, and on top of it, the design of the cabin is clean, so nothing interfere with the view.
Lighting: Finally, our work - and probably other as well - to have the lighting on the machine based on a all-xenon setup gives results. This means that a total of 6 xenon lights are directed forward, and 2 are directed backwards.
A deeper test of the lighting in use will be performed as soon as the machine shows up in Scandinavia - probably as soon as the next week! Backwards there are red LED lighting, used as design components. At the very back of the platform, there is vertical-laying red LED lights on each side, giving the machine a futuristic and fresh look even in dark!
Tiller: The tiller on The Beast is a Prinoth Power Tiller, modified to fit on the Beast. Performance and result behind the machine is expected to be the same as on other machines equipped with the Power Tiller.
What difference will it make? For a full-scale skiresort, having a lot of machines, this machine will for sure revolutionize their way of grooming in the future. 3 x 4,2 meter machines can be replaced by 2 x 5,2 meter machines, and still cover approximately the same surface area. Last but not the least, this machine with its significant larger area in contact with snow (some 45 percent), gives the machine better climbing ability, even though the machine weights 11,550 kgs with steel tracks, this machine will be a climber in every snow condition.
The Show: It was an extraordinary introduction show by Hubert Lepka, also starring other wintershows around the world, for example the Hannibal show in Sölden. This show was linked to the Beauty and the Beast story, and the effects was stunning, involving some great artist, groomers, snowmobiles and a helicopter loaded with fireworks. Pictures below is from the first sight of the Beast during the show!
Further review will be published as soon as a more detailed test are performed.
