New ropeways from LEITNER ropeways offer great comfort in the Alps

This winter, many new ropeways from LEITNER ropeways will come into operation in the Alps. These projects focus on greater comfort and shorter journey times for passengers. Old lifts are being replaced and small ski resorts linked together. The operating companies are also set on making ecological improvements. With the gearless DirectDrive system and the LeitDrive frequency inverter, along with many high-tech details and top quality design, these new ropeways satisfy the highest requirements in many respects.

The two 8-passenger gondola lifts “Orto del Toro” and “Tre Cime di Lavaredo” connect the two ski resorts of Monte Elmo and Croda Rossa at Sesto in South Tyrol’s Alta Pusteria. These two ropeways, of 1,791 and 2,033 meters in length, will serve two new downhill runs as well as sparing winter sports enthusiasts laborious car and bus journeys. More comfort for guests is also a priority for two new ropeways in Alta Badia.

Efficient and environmentally friendly: With DirectDrive and LeitDrive to the Gardena Pass
In Colfosco, below the Gardena Pass, the old “Borest” chairlift is being replaced by a modern 8-passenger gondola lift. The new lift, which is equipped with the gearless DirectDrive system and four LeitDrive frequency inverters, will speed up the journey time for winter sports enthusiasts on the Sella Ronda. On the Campolongo Pass, holiday makers can now travel towards Pralongia in a modern 6-seater chairlift with comfortable yellow seats and individual footrests, instead of the fixed 3-seater chairlift. Continuous improvements in quality are also a priority in the Carezza ski resort at Lago di Carezza to the east of Bolzano. There the about two-kilometer long, 6-seater “Tschein” chairlift - also equipped with DirectDrive - is making its debut, replacing an old 3-seater chairlift.

With the panoramic ropeway from the town center to the Adamello-Brenta nature park
In the neighboring province of Trento, guests can take the detachable 8-passenger “La Panoramica” gondola lift from the center of Molveno up to the high plateau of Pradel in the Adamello-Brenta nature park. It replaces a cage lift installed over 30 years ago, and offers considerably more ride comfort as well as the fantastic views of Lake Molveno and the Brenta Dolomites.

Faster, better looking, more comfortable
Long waiting times are now a thing of the past in Obertilliach in East Tyrol. There the GD10 Golzentippbahn is replacing an old, fixed 2-seater chairlift. It will now take passengers only half the time to get from the center of the resort to the top station. The new ropeway uses the DirectDrive system and has large panoramic windows. Passengers can also enjoy a faster, more comfortable ride in Obertauern in the SalzburgerLand. There the new CD6C “Panoramabahn” is fitted with yellow bubbles and black-and-yellow comfort padding, seat heating and DirectDrive. Work on a new cable car that is due to come into operation this winter is also continuing in Kitzbühel.

Extremely family-friendly: The automated elevating platform distinguishes large and small passengers
Great comfort and technical expertise are the hallmarks of the new “Milchhäuslexpress” at Brauneck in Bavaria. The detachable 6-seater chairlift has blue bubbles, seat heating, individual footrests and is equipped with the LEITNER DirectDrive and LeitDrive. It also has self-locking safety bars on all seats and a conveyor belt complete with elevating platform. It identifies whether a child or adult is trying to embark, and lifts up automatically in response.

By 10-passenger gondola up to the peaks of the Bernese Oberland

In the Swiss ski resort of Adelboden-Lenk, two new ropeways from LEITNER ropeways are making their debut. The first 10-passenger gondola lifts built in the Bernese Oberland will take winter sports enthusiasts directly from
Rothenbach in Lenk to the Metschstand in the heart of the Adelboden-Lenk ski resort without having to change lifts. The Stand-XPress I and the Stand-XPress II will reduce travel time to less than half what it was.

Better access to the slopes in the French Massif Central
The ski resort of Les Arcs now boasts a new 8-passenger gondola lift called “Des Villards”. During the winter seasion it will be open daily until 11pm. In turn, the new 6-seater Mont Joux chairlift in the French resort of Saint-Gervais provides significantly better connections between Megève and Saint Gervais. In the Le Lioran ski resort, the new CD6 Buron du Baguet lift is the first detachable 6-seater chairlift in the whole of the French Massif Central, and provides faster and better access to the slopes.
