Nice landscape, Neil I was curious how many weeks of snow do you usually get there in Scotland?

I like the sarcasim about weeks of snow....but your right, our seasons have been quite short and hence my struggle to get training. Usually we would start around late january and lucky to run into april but this year it was longer.

If you will have training, I would recommend you one season in Norway! Plenty of skiresorts, and a long season ... Early November - Late April is not unusual! I believe Trysil - Norways biggest - is in lack of drivers this season!

... hey Neil, it wasn't sarcasm, mine. I said weeks (and not months) because I know sometimes the difference between a good season or a bad season it's a matter of a couple of weeks (i.e., if it includes or not Xmas and New Year Holidays, it makes a great difference...). Anyway don't be sad, here in the Alps we have places where you can ski from November to May, but also some places with about only 10 weeks of useful snow, maybe a little more if snowguns can work close to zero °C. The advice of Ole is right, Norway is the "heaven" for training, even if I recommend to try also some extreme slopes here in the Alps, where a good winch and a tank of adrenaline are very common when you drive a cat.
