Ove, I learned from the americans that most of their cats have no rear deck. They do not carry passengers on the deck and thus it serves no purpose. They see more of the track, around the tiller and also the finish.

why do we have rear fenders too avoid snow comming upp from the tracks in europe? this must bee a hell off a mess whitout any thing over the tracks.

Kurt, I agree but thats what they said. I also thought the snow would be thrown about without guards - I never asked them about that! Harry?
I suppose less weight also means better fuel efficiency/climbing etc - especially if the deck has no purpose!

It'll get fenders at some point, if you look close in the pic above you can see the mounts. Here a shot of a 400 park US with fenders mounted:

The 2 400's at Vail have black, plastic track guards as well as the perspex tiller guards.
