Bob's Entrance into Whistler Bowl is 48 degrees, that should be roughly 110, after the first 100 meters it flattens out a bit to 40-45 or 85-100. Then a short traverse to the top of Shale Slope. That one starts of with 50 degrees or 120, and then continuous 45 or 100 to the bottom of Peak Chair. Most exciting thing I've groomed in the last years! | Kommentert av: Flo Dato: 15.12.2011 07.36.54 |

Holy shit.... isn't it a complete nightmare to maintain it? Getting the damn snow to stick? We have serious issues with our steepest hill @ Trysilfjellet (44)... couse you almost ruin more than you are able to repair again just by backing down... And you get only a verry limited amount of times you can drive in your own tracks inorder to maintain some traction.. Fucking hell, I must visit you guys sometime, and try the 50degress, that must be a real..... joy.. :) Guess you have more heavy snowfalls than we do, though.... Which reduced the nightmare slightly.

No maintenance on it. It's not getting groomed on a regular basis. All snow depending. They started to groom it a couple of times in 03-04 and 04-05. From 05-09 it wasn't done once, then in 09-10 we did it 4 times, since then it hasn't been done once. When we groomed it, it had a lot of snow, no need to push snow uphill at Bob's entrance, different on the top of shale. You need to move some of the white stuff right to the top. Takes a lot of time to get it where you need it.

so impressive Flo - what kind of pick point / anchor is being used? | Kommentert av: Wayne Natti Dato: 07.01.2012 08.03.06 |

Regular rock anchor. ''We drill in 1 m and resin in the threaded rod. To the top of the threaded rod we nut on a steel anchor plate, with a 9 t shackle attatched. Then, we attatch a 5/8 galvy wire rope, with a threaded "Farmer's" eye, always doubled to prevent unwinding of the winch cable. We attatch Crosby clamps, shove the whole affair into old snowmaking hose, then attatch a lifting eye on the business end'' -That's about it, basicly...
