Is it better to have plast on the blade because the snow can´t get stuck ? | Kommentert av: Jóhannes Rúnar Viktorsson Dato: 15.11.2012 00.38.55 |

That is correct guys :) the plastic doesnt have the same ability to create massive temperature differences between the wet snow and a cold blade. Its a matter of material properties :) | Kommentert av: Ole Kristoffer Hole Olsen Dato: 15.11.2012 11.09.51 |

An old Icelander I know would argue - why not from the manufacturer like this if there is proven results! | Kommentert av: Neil Robertson Dato: 17.11.2012 18.02.01 |

No good explanation - but my wild guess is that no one put pressure on the manufacturers to have it as an option. Thats probably the reason brand new machines are still delivered with halogen lighting as well. Some drivers can not have this plastic in their blade, because they tend to move more rocks and stones than snow... :) | Kommentert av: Ole Kristoffer Hole Olsen Dato: 19.11.2012 13.00.01 |

Wish there was a like button on TM. Cause then I could like Ole Kristoffer's comment.

If you push rock and snow will do no difference, what is most difference between plastic and steel is humidity will make water between and when that frozen will that push the plastic away and will make air between and in time will the ice put the plastic away from the steel. If you will give picture a good look you can see the plastic is not in one peace on the blade the gab in middle between the plastic. This is not good for flight attendants )
